Pikes Peak Proposal | Denver Wedding Photographer
Happy Monday! I had a pretty amazing weekend with some pretty spectacular things. Today, I want to share a little bit about Andrew + Rebekah's story.
Andrew works with my husband and a few weeks ago, Matt texted me and asked if I wanted to capture Andrew proposing to his girlfriend. There was not a doubt in my mind and I answered, yes in shouty capital letters. I was completely "on board" with the whole plan.
Simply put, he was taking Rebekah to the top of Pikes Peak via the COG Railway. (Get the "on board" now? ;)) I would, also, ride the COG and pretend to not know Andrew. I would be just another tourist. Once we were at the top, I would follow them to the observation deck and capture Andrew popping the question.
On Saturday, May 7th, we, my mom and I, headed to Manitou Springs to ride the COG. I had never ridden the COG and had no idea there would be assigned seating. My mom and I had one row in between Andrew and Rebekah and spent an hour and twenty minutes practically staring at each other.
Once we arrived at the top, we followed them to the observation deck. I watched them closely and then Andrew began to execute his plan. It went perfectly. It was cloudy, cold and windy up there without the typical view of Colorado Springs, but, in my opinion, this view was much better.
"Are you serious?"
Andrew quoted Pride and Prejudice, Rebekah's favorite movie.
She said, "I will!"
Engaged at 14,000 feet!
The perfect way to celebrate being engaged? Donuts. The answer is always donuts!
A huge congratulations to Andrew + Rebekah! Thank you so much for allowing me to capture such an amazing moment in your lives! Let the adventure begin!
